caught in a hoop

Captured in dappled sunshine, a little bird made of muslin and painted, ready to be set free. I don’t yet know where he’ll fly. ( Click to enlarge as usual)

This was a continuation of satin stitching on muslin from last week-a bird motif. I might continue more satin stitching and painting on the hooped piece, or I may appliqué it to something else.

journal page, bird outline ready to trace

Bird traced with water soluble marker then free satin stitched in a hoop.

There was no stitching this weekend-away visiting the children in Cambridge.

He’s beautiful Threadspider! My favourite bird is the Oyster Catcher and your sketch reminds me of that, but the beautiful colours say peacock :)

I love the way you’ve stitched this little winged friend. Awesome color choices, too.
