trackways and pathways
Surprise! I said it would look different. I haven’t quite finished re-ordering everything here yet, but I’m getting there. My blog roll is still to be completed, and can now be found, in part, on the page entitled A good read. None of the widgets seem to be in place yet and we are having a few internet/connectivity type issues, so the progress is being hampered. Barbed wire across the path, you might say. And I am still in a manic decorating place, using the light we have at present to shine into those dark forgotten corners. And whenever possible, I am out digging, preparing the vegetable allotment for some autumn sowings and for winter dormancy.
The view that inspired Fenland, will of course have changed now. The wheat will be gone and the feature that lodged most firmly in mind when I was inspired by it , the tractor tracks through the crop, will also have joined the invisible trackways that criss cross the landscape. Pathways through the corn. They are partially completed on the silk cloth-the bottom is a detail of that central place between the wheels where the corn is broken down, stubbly. I am enjoying making bullion knots. (Click to enlarge, as usual.)

It certainly looks different! Congratulations.
oh, i really like this. very user friendly, and i love this path and how you have used your color variation to add life to the motifs.
I’m so glad you gals stopped by..thank you so much for your comments. I’m going to try to make my writing pithier-shorter posts, but illustrated. And I’ve had other ideas for adding pages. It will be better when I get the Blogroll right off the bottom and move a couple of things around. Only thing I’m not sure about is the comment below the comments box that starts “All comments are screened..” It’s a bit of WordPressery and I can’t change it. Seems a bit unnecessary, a bit preachy.
I like the new format- love the embroidery- the silk and bouillon knots are lovely
I, too, like the new format. Love the broken stubble between the tire tracks… very reminiscent of the real thing.
hi, as I usually read you in my reader, I tend not to see your blog as it really is so I’ve just had a quick look- I like it, looks great and so does the embroidery
Mum this is awesome!
But I agree w/ you about the comment guidance
very nice layout – i saw the comment guidance before I read your comment – i was surprised – it didnt seem you, somehow. the only thing I dont like about wordpress blogs is the ’snap’ pop-up that appears when you move across photos and links – but hey…it’s your blog! grin. (does this constitute a ‘bad’ comment? lol)
i like the direction you have taken with fenlands
Thank you for your Cherished comments Calamity Kim, Laura, Guzzisue and Paula. Paula, I have disabled the Snap facility-just for you. I I have found it annoying too, so found out how to do that. The pictures are still clickable to enlarge. I have also written to them asking if I can change the wording in the comments box-need to see if they reply.
your work is very interesting. I will put a link in my blog.
ohh – that’s different – a very clear layout, I like it!
K
PS I agree about the snap facility – I disabled mine too.
love the blog! It’s really exciting! The embroidery is so beautiful
thanks XX
I’ve been over to see your renovation and like the changes. Came back this eve to make some comments and let you know that I enjoy all your posts and processes. Thanks for sharing what you do with all of us (( hugs to you, Judith ))
I do love this work, so evocative and personal at the same time. Well done, Blossom!
