100th post since I moved here and news
I moved to WordPress on Mar 17th this year and this is my 100th post since the move. Whoop! I’ve no complaints at all-apart from the acidic comment next to the Comments box that I can’t edit-but I didn’t have to choose this template! So here I shall stay and hope that you stay with me because I am hoping to share a bit of a journey with you.
I have enrolled on a City & Guilds Stitched Textiles course -Exploring Embroidery- with Opus . I am enjoying all aspects of my stitching and felt the need for some real foundations to what I am doing. This will be the first formal art based qualification I have taken. And I am daunted. It has been such a long time since I studied anything in a disciplined way.
So here I am, literally back to the drawing board, with some opening line studies in pencil, pen and ink and wax crayon . There is design and art exploration to start with-I’m hoping to obtain the kit I need to do some printing at the weekend, before the stitching starts. I’m very excited and collecting ideas from all over the place at the moment. I hope you’ll stay for the ride.

I really wish you well with your course, you will love it! I can’t wait to see how you get on.
What a grand thing to do! I’ll be watching and learning as you go along… have fun and learn lots! ;0)
looking forward to coming along for the ride. I would love to do a city and guilds embroidery course but the exchange rate just makes them seem hideously expensive here – so Ill have to be content with *studying* vicariously…. im so excited for you.
Hurrah, you’ve started your course at last! Looking forward to hearing more about it tomorrow
Congrats on your 100th post! Now onto the next 100 with a wonderful undertaking that we can follow. Have a great time with the C&G class!
Congrats on starting a course. We are with you all the way.
This was a fantastic decision on your part, Judith! I will most definitely be along for the ride.
you? daunted? oh, judith. but i totally understand what you mean about wanting some real foundations (you said “need”, i say “want” because your work is so elegant now!). will enjoy going through with you vicariously.
How very exciting – the tutors are great at Opus
I shall follow your textile journey with interest
Warm regards
Karen
