ludlow
I’m back from a lovely break in Ludlow although I feel a bit like a traveller on long haul at the moment, with home being the refuelling stop between destinations. Well, that is a bit of an exagerration-but we’re off on a flying visit Cambridge this weekend, so I’m just catching up with laundry and some chores before heading out again Friday afternoon.
In Ludlow we stayed in great comfort at The Feathers Hotel. It was beautifully atmospheric, with oodles of Jacobean panelling and carving to appeal to my sense of history and a room with a 21st century bathroom with a whirlpool bath to be pampered in. Glorious. Glad I’m not paying the water bill.
There will be stitchery to show soon-I’m working on my couching samples and enjoying the research that goes with it. And soon there will be laidwork. In the meantime, enjoy lovely Ludlow, especially that image of the dragon like creature, on its own at the bottom, a carving on a post supporting a seventeenth century gatehouse. The tiny girl in her daddy’s arms next to me said, on having it pointed out to her “Mouth Open”. And indeed it is. I love it. (I didn’t mean to do the pictures like this….it just happened. I have to double click to enlarge them.)
Enjoy voting today ,you lovely Americans. I got my finger’s crossed here.
