in the company of kind strangers..

Yes I know I already posted today, but I just wanted to share a couple of things with you all, as I’m feeling mellow (after earlier frustrations.)

Yesterday Allie posted a link on her blog to her local FM Radio station , Kink FM, celebrating its 40th year of broadcasting, up there in Oregon. Every day they are playing music from one year, starting in 1968 and today it’s 1972… and I have just been humming along to Ventura Highway by America. Music is such a powerful way of transporting you back in time and space. I was just finishing at school, aged 17, ready to fly the family  and find my own feet, my own partner, my own way. Everything was possible, nearly everything was still ahead. Such exciting times. Check it out .

There’s an interesting piece of research going on with Dogdaisychains. Jackie is trying to find out average wrist size and width preferences for the beautiful silk and velvet cuffs she makes. On Friday she will be drawing a name as a thank you for leaving your wrist details, and will be rewarding the lucky winner with a cuff or other piece of her glorious stitching. Go and leave a comment on her blog to be entered.

OK , grooving along here with the Allman brothers ( I loved the Allman brothers when I was a girl-I think I still do. Swoon. I still own a copy of Eat a Peach on real vinyl)-have a look at the wondrously beautiful things Jude is doing with words and check fabrics here and here. There seems to be no end to her creativity and generosity in sharing these gems of ideas.

Thank you ladies,  and all of you who read my blog and leave me comments. It is a blessing to be in the company of such kind strangers who feel like friends.

I used to think “Eat a Peach” was smutty when me and Tom used to go through your LPs as kids :)
