weekly roundup
I am in deeply manic mode. The sun shone today-hooray-showing up the cobwebs, the accumulated junk and dare I say it-dirt-from the summer, so I set about the house with the hoover and then decided to clean carpets. Like you do in December. I’m going to be doing the same tomorrow, so I’m afraid not many pictures from me for a couple of days.
I have been researching kantha stitching for my course and in due course there will be samples to see. I should have done them by now….running a bit behind schedule in my C & G but I am nearly at the right point. The kantha work is fabulous and I will write about it at greater length. In the meantime, you might want to look here here. If you click on Collections in the sidebar, then Textiles, there is a lovely collection of images of kanthas.
On a another course related note, I regularly read Helen “The Textile Goddess” Cowan’s blog and this week she has started to put her undergraduate dissertation “A History of English Embroidery” on the Internet in blog format. It promises to be very interesting and already has links to interesting sites and images. I have added it to my source material page too.
