I do like adding writing to my stitching…..
..or is it that I like stitching writing?

comming along nicely
I’ve been toying with the idea of adding some of Shakespeare’s words to my Midsummer CQ. I do like yours very much!!
Go for it Marty.
Beautiful. Is the method you use for the letters a specific type/method of embroidery/stitch or did you create it yourself?
Kit-I first devised an alphabet based on a font in the style of Charles Rennie Mackintosh that I found on the web. I use a method that is mostly couching-that is holding down a longer thread with a short stitch at right angles. Curves in letters are essentially using a Y shaped stitch and I add little stitches at the top and bottom of the taller letters to give them more substance. Bit of a pot pourri really! I think it is the beautiful twisted thread that makes it. I hope you are going to make some more of your beautiful birds soon..
I’m seeing more and more writing on people’s cq. The Stef Francis looks very pretty.
A pity stiching and writing won´t let themselves melt into one word…
I wonder if “witching” might be the right word? As in “the witching hour”?
just catching up, as i have been in a winter snit… i like the lettering and how there are little dots in the stitch pattern. the monochrome palette is so now for me.
I saw this on flicr and was enchanted. It is very beautiful.
perhaps it’s a bit of both. Either way, it’s yet more beautiful stitchery. I’ve been woofully absent from reading blogs … good to pay you a visit again!
thanks for stopping by and commenting-I have been remiss visiting everyone lately too. Glad you like the monochrome-it’s restful to work with.
Lovely to see you here Diane-I will catch up with you too-but I am loving the February Open series.
Thank you Karen-so much appreciated.
