windmill

We spent the weekend in Cambridge, catching up with the children and their significant others, eating out, exploring outdoor spaces. This is on Sunday morning at Wicken Fen-the last working windpump in the Fens. I love the way the sails imitate the sky colours; I love the burnt out colour in the reeds.

reeds and sunlight

The reeds whisper all the time-tales of eels and little birds and vanished people. I love the subtlety of this landscape. And these guys too.

Made me feel the same-it’s just like a Dutch delft tile.

Isn’t it amazingly exciting when a daughter suddenly gets the creative bug!! I have her first creation, a mobile phone pouch and I feel the same as I did when she brought her first hand made christrmas card home from priimary school!

Love the sails on that windmill… such a color! Of course, the kids are pretty cool, too! Love her hat!!

Wicken is about 2 miles from my house Judith. I love that very windmill too. Those smiling faces have cheered my afternoon! What a lovely post.
